DR. MATTHEW HUDNALL - ASSOCIATE DIRECTOR CULVERHOUSE COLLEGE OF BUSINESS

Dr. Matthew Hudnall is currently the Associate Director for the Institute of Business Analytics (IBA) in the Culverhouse College of Business and is an Assistant Professor in Management Information Systems. Prior to joining Culverhouse, Dr. Hudnall served as Deputy Director of the University of Alabama Center for Advanced Public Safety (CAPS) (2001-2017) and specialized in developing statewide software data integration and analytics solutions for law enforcement, traffic safety, medical, and other state-level sectors.

During his 18 years at UA, Dr. Hudnall has been principle investigator on over 30 funded applied research projects and has managed over $24M in grant funds. His current funded projects with the IBA include data science and analytics initiatives with Alabama Medicaid ($900K) and Mental Health ($671k) agencies, Lockheed Martin ($181k), US Department of Justice ($1M), and a nationwide data analytics project related to veteran suicide funded by Bristol-Myers Squibb and America’s Warrior Partnership ($3.9M).
